1970’s Brushy the Floating Robot
1970’s Brushy the Floating Robot

Year: 1970’s
Manufacturer: Unknown
Condition: Very good condition robot and good condition box with little shelf-wear. It has a shallow wrinkle on one side of the box, but otherwise looks good.
First edition vintage collectable

Here’s a novel robot for collectors or just for fun! Brushy the Floating Robot is actually a made up name, because the package says just “Robot” which is not very clever. Brushy is about 5 1/2″ tall, has a radar dish on his head, wheel gears for arms, and a 3 arm wrench on his chest. His most unique feature is his feet. Instead of wheels or legs, Brushy has (let’s say it together) BRUSH for feet! They’re basically bristles like you’d find on a hairbrush. So how does a robot with brushes for feet move? Flip the switch under his left arm and Brushy starts vibrating and floating around, going nowhere fast on his unique brush feet. See video below.

The box is 3 1/2″ x 3″ x 5 1/2″ and is in good condition, no rips or tears, just some aging and shelf wear.

Photos are of of actual item. Climate controlled storage and minimally handled. Sold as is. Only one available.

1970’s Horikawa Space Walk Man Metal Robot with Light / Sound Action
1970’s Horikawa Space Walk Man Metal Robot with Light / Sound Action

Year: Late 1970’s
Manufacturer: Horikawa Item ME 100
Condition: Very good condition robot and package
First edition vintage collectable

Horikawa was a master of toy robot design, beginning in the 1959 with wind up robots and continuing through the 1990’s. Horikawa robots have a unique style with evolving features over time while maintaining a familiar look and feel.

Designed to command attention, this is a late 1970’s edition of the Horikawa all tin robot in the original box. 12″ in height with an all-tin lithographed black body and blue metal robot feet. The robot looks great just standing still. But the moment you flip the switch on his back the action really begins!

The robot starts walking, then the doors on his chest swing open and his built in robo-guns start blasting the room with bright flashing lights and loud shooting sounds. Then he spins, rotating at the hips 3 times, shooting the whole time, before his doors close and he advances for more carnage. Not subtle! Lots of amazing light, sound and moving action. See the video below.

We purchase this item in 1980. No rust or corrosion. The back of the robot’s block head has a few scratches, but otherwise it’s in great shape and works well. The battery compartment is clean, and uses 2 D batteries (not included). This is a finely crafted item and a great example of a well-designed mechanical robot toy and makes a great gift.

The package is 6 1/2″ x 5″ x 12 3/4″ in size and is in good condition with a few dings and creases but looks nice.

Manufacturer: Metalmania Item MF742
Condition: Very good condition toy and packaging
First edition vintage collectable

This is a bright, colorful, very cool classic 50’s style spaceship piloted by a classic blockhead style robot. The entire toy is made of lithographed tin, except for a plastic steering wheel and windshield. It’s a “friction” style toy, which has an internal wind-up motor. Give it a push and it makes a clicking sound as it rolls on wheels. The paint job is in very good condition, with some minor wear marks on the nose and one side fin, but is very minor. The windshield is still crystal clear.

The outer box is classic retro artwork, measures 13 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ x 5″ and includes the original cardboard inserts. The box is in great shape, with very minor wear shelf wear mostly on the corners. 1986 Revell Space Shuttle, Launch Tower, & Booster Rockets 1/144 Model Kit
1986 Revell Space Shuttle, Launch Tower, & Booster Rockets 1/144 Model Kit

Year: 1986
Manufacturer: Revell – Item# 4911
Condition: Very good condition
First edition vintage collectable

This is vintage model making on a MASSIVE scale! a true collector’s item, this is the 1986 Space Shuttle, manufactured before the Challenger disaster. The kit contains name customization slide-off decals of the entire shuttle fleet, including the Challenger, as well as the Columbia, which also met tragedy 17 years later. The Space Shuttle fleet’s last flight was in 2011, and this incredible shuttle model kit is also a part of history now.

When assembled, the model is a 1/144 scale model of the Space Shuttle, Launch Tower and Shuttle complex, ready for launch from Launch Pad 39 at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral Florida.

This is a highly detailed kit over 2 feet tall when assembled, with a crawler launch tower, moveable access arms and retracting rotating crane structure. The shuttle has opening payload doors, external fuel tank and dual rocket motors, a moveable Canada robot arm, and more. Detailed instructions for assembly, painting and decal application.

The shrink wrap has never been removed from the box, so the internal contents are still in their original bags. Most of the photos are from other sources, showing the way the box looks when first opened, how it looks unassembled, as well as the fully assembled kit. This kit is unopened and unassembled.

The box measures 20″ x 30″ x 5″. The shrink wrap is a little beat up and torn primarily on the corners, but the printing on the box is in very good shape and preserved from being in a plastic bag most of the last 30 years. The shrink wrap contracted over the years, making one large wrinkle on the front of the box, but it’s unlikely to have affected the contents.
