In the mid 1960’s, it was still common to have real steel toys made in the USA. This vintage 1965 Tonka Car Truck Carrier Transporter is an American classic. Steel 18 1/4” long toy truck, made in Mound, Minnesota. It’s a two piece design with tractor cab and fleet carrier. Very good condition with only minor scratches. The fifth wheel (a plastic U shaped piece) is missing. Also missing are the original metal ramps. Otherwise it’s in great shape and the painted steel looks very good for being over a half century old.

This is a rare promotional item from the 90’s. 1/48 scale model Kenworth Trailer, made in the USA in Dyersville Iowa by Ertl. It’s 11 1/2” long die cast and plastic with opening rear doors. This also includes the original stickers on a paper backing with a Dow Brands logo for each door, plus a sticker panel for each side of the trailer featuring Dow Brands such as Spray and Wash, Vivid Detergent, Glass Plus, Fantastik, and more. This was a mail-in offer and not available in stores. Very limited edition. Packaged in the original postal mailer shipping box.

1963 Tonka #518 AA Wrecker Tow Truck with Red Hoist

This is the classic Tonka Tow Truck 24 Hour Service Emergency Vehicle made in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Made of heavy duty white painted steel, the Tonka truck is 14 1/4” long with windows all the way around the cab. It has a red warning beacon on the roof and lift hook with crank for emergency towing. Stamped steel body. Real truck paint. Heavy duty “lifetime” wide white sidewall tires. It’s virtually rust-free. The front end has a slight dent and there are some scratches and missing parts, showing this is a toy that was played with and enjoyed! Now it needs a new owner.

1990’s Lucky Open Convertible MF787

The Lucky Open Convertible is 8 1/2” long with a multicolor paint job, wide whitewall tires and “chrome” accents, all made of tin. Features “Friction Drive” – Push the car on a hard surface and it the engine revs with a clicking noise as it rolls forward. The hood opens up, revealing a cool bonus- a flathead engine with a real working fan on the front that spins when the car moves. The Lucky is in excellent working condition with minor scuff marks. No box.

1993 24” Tonka Fire Rescue Engine No. 5 Boom Ladder Truck

Here’s a TWO FOOT LONG Tonka fire truck from the early 90’s! It’s made of molded plastic, but it’s still classic Tonka with lots of details and all the bells and whistles, indcluding flashing lights. Push a button and the Fire Captain starts shouting orders to various crew members including Chief the dog!. It even second guesses your moves, telling you not to move the ladder too fast, and when you put the ladder down the Captain complements you for completing the task! Engine idling sound effects and sirens included!
The extension ladder and bucket are missing but can be replaced. The windows are scratched, and could be replaced or removed. Other than that it’s in great shape with only small blemishes.

Transformers are the popular vehicle-into-robot characters today, but GoBots were the original, introduced a year before the first Transformers came out. Tonka bought the line from Bandai, originally Popy of Japan. These are five classic first edition vintage collectables from Tonka:

Each GoBot is like a puzzle and takes some figuring out to make them work. These are fairly intricate and clever designs, and a new direction for Tonka, making them very collectable. This set is unnamed, usually referred to as “Regular” GoBots.
This set has been used and played with minimally. The Flip Top Helicopter is missing the small rotor and the Flip Top Forklift is missing the console. But otherwise the set is in great shape with original paint and sticker markings.

1969 Hot Wheels Red Line Twin Mill Car

This is a first year red line Twin Mill Hot Wheels car. Not a replica, but straight from the bright orange Hot Wheels streets of 1969. Rare metalflak black with red flames. The wheels are still true and it rolls great. Very little wear with two slight chips on the tip of the nose. The flame decals are clean and crisp. 2 7/8″ long.

This is an unused vintage Tonka Truck in like new condition from 2001. It’s a big 14” long and 6” tall. and features a heavyweight stamped metal yellow cab and tilting bed with black molded bumper, wheel flairs and undercarriage. NO RUST, no dents, no scratches or scuffs. The windows are clean and clear. Paint and markings are in great condition right down to the original Tonka decals and chromed Tonka lettering on each of the wheels. Excellent condition for an item two decades old.
